If your Lorcana deck ran almost no characters, it just lost its engine. On Tuesday, Nov 3, 2026, Ravensburger banned My Adventure Book from Core Constructed, effective immediately (official announcement).

What changed
- Core Constructed: My Adventure Book, an item from Attack of the Vine! (released July 2026), is banned. Ravensburger Game Hub events using Core Constructed no longer accept deck lists that include it.
- Format Coconut (beta): Bend to My Will is banned in Format Coconut only. It stays legal in every other format.
- Infinity Constructed: unchanged. Hiram Flaversham, Toymaker remains the listed ban.

The angle: a ban about play pattern, not power
The most interesting line in the announcement is that these decks "are not always the strongest or most competitive." Play Design Manager Alyson Erb wrote that My Adventure Book gave "too much consistency for decks that play very few or, in some cases, no characters," and that "characters cards have always been at the heart of our game" (source).
That is a statement of design intent. Ravensburger is telling us what Lorcana is supposed to feel like: boards full of characters questing and challenging, not item and action piles.
The Coconut ban follows the same logic. Lead Game Designer Lukas Litzsinger said Bend to My Will "grinds games to a halt," leaving every other player top decking in a multiplayer game played to 25 lore.
What it means at the table
- Item and action heavy lists need a rebuild or a new shell.
- Character focused decks, including the new Hyperia City cards, get room to breathe.
- Casual Coconut pods should feel faster and friendlier.

Your turn
Poll: Was banning My Adventure Book the right call?
- Yes, Lorcana should be about characters
- No, let item decks live
- Should have been a different card
Questions for the comments:
- Did you lose a deck to this ban? What are you rebuilding into?
- Coconut players: was Bend to My Will ruining your pods?
- Which Hyperia City character are you building around first?
Rift Vault Take
We like this one. Lorcana is at its best when the board is full of characters you love, and a ban aimed at fun instead of win rate is a good sign for casual and competitive players alike.
